What is an ETRAN score?

Updated this week

The ETRAN score, a credit risk assessment from the SBA's ETRAN system, is a number representing the likelihood of a business defaulting on an SBA loan. Generally, a higher score suggests a lower risk.

The term "ETRAN score" is commonly used to informally refer to the SBA's credit scoring algorithm, typically the Small Business Scoring Service (SBSS).
